This message examines the life of Nicodemus from his three New Testament appearances: John 3, 7, and 19. Three lessons are then drawn from the man's
remarkable story: (1) Someone can be devoutly religious, outwardly
moral, and full of Bible knowledge but still be completely lost, (2)
Sometimes God works slowly in someone's conversion, and (3) A genuine believer
cannot avoid public identification with Christ.

Following Jesus' lengthy teaching in John 6, a description is given of three parties who heard His words: (1) Many temporary disciples who were offended and forsook Jesus, (2) A few true disciples, represented by Peter's great declaration of faith, and (3) One hypocritical disciple, Judas Iscariot, who would become Jesus' betrayer. Jesus Not Discouraged by Unbelieving Crowds
Jesus faced unbelieving audiences throughout His ministry, and this is
especially seen in John chapter 6. Jesus confronted the crowd's
unbelief and then explained why He was not discouraged, teaching four
major salvation truths: (1) There are particular people that God the
Father has given to Christ, (2) Every one of these people will
eventually come to Christ for salvation, (3) No one who comes to Christ
will be rejected by Him, and (4) All who come to Christ will be kept

In John chapter 6, Jesus identifies Himself as the "true bread", the "bread of God", the "living bread" and the "bread of life". He, as the true bread: (1) fulfills the type of the OT manna, (2) was given by God the Father, (3) came from heaven, (4) is provided for the whole world, (5) satisfies permanently, and (6) gives eternal life. Jesus challenged His hearers not to work for the perishing food of this world but instead to obtain the eternal food of salvation in Himself.
