Ruth first met her eventual husband Boaz when she was a poor gleaner in his barley field.  The circumstances of their meeting and his gracious treatment of her provide illustrations of several great gospel truths about sinners coming to Christ for salvation.

Bitter and Broken on the way to Blessing

Naomi describes her life as bitter, empty, and full of God's affliction.  In this message, we consider (1) the extent of her bitterness, (2) the Cause of her bitterness (God Himself), and (3) the purpose of these bitter experiences (to make her repent and return to the Lord).  Though Naomi believed her life was bitter and that God was against her, all these experiences had been graciously given by God to bring to the place of unbelievable blessing.
