In 1 Corinthians 12, we take a look at the Christian's role within their local church: 1. You really do have an important place in the body. 2. Diversity in the body is good. 3. You need all the other body parts. 4. All the other body parts need you. 5. The body parts must all be united, functioning as one organism. 6. It's a problem for everyone when certain body parts aren't functioning. 7. The way you discover your unique gifting and role in the body is by loving these people. Audio only: https://ift.tt/2BpDnOH
In this sermon, we look into the Old Testament and see that most of the good leaders start out well but finish badly, suffering moral failures later in their lives. Their sins all seem to fall into four problem areas: 1. Pride. 2. Choosing personal comfort (over personal sacrifice). 3. Putting family relationships first. 4. Friendship with the world. Knowing about their failures should help us avoid the same outcomes and cause us to appreciate the moral perfection of Christ in the Gospel. Audio only: https://ift.tt/31wRtIt
