Miraculously Feeding the Multitude - Richard Hamilton


Luke 9:11-17 describes one of Jesus' greatest miracles, the feeding of 5,000 men plus women and children.  Lessons for us:
1. God is compassionate.
2. Nothing is too big of an obstacle for God.
3. Christ is the true bread.
4. We must distribute the bread of the Gospel to others.

Jesus' Lessons for Effective Ministry - Nathan Rages


Luke 9:1-10 describes Jesus sending His twelve apostles on a ministry tour.  This passage provides many lessons for us to apply to ourselves in  our own areas of ministry:
1.  Learn by hands-on experience (v2-6).
2.  Serve with Christ’s empowerment (v1).  
3.  Benefit from your co-workers (Mark 6:7). 
4.  Keep the Kingdom message paramount (v2).  
5.  Show compassion to suffering people (v1,2,6).  
6.  Depend on God’s provisions (v3). 
7.  Be content with what God gives (v4). 
8.  Move on from rejection (v5). 
9.  Pause for reflection and rest (v10).

Mark, How Should I Pray? - James Voon


Mark 11:1-25 provides helpful principles concerning a Christian's prayer life: 
1.  Prayer is through Christ as the sole location for communion with God.
2.  Prayer requires trust in God, His character and promises.
3.  Prayer is a means by which mountains are moved.
4.  Prayer requires forgiveness toward those who have wronged us. 
5.  Prayer requests must be surrendered to God's will.
